Following our successful accreditation with ProQual in December, National Skills Centre is pleased to announce that we now offer two highly sought after qualifications in the health and safety sector:
- NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health and Safety
- NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety
These qualifications are designed for individuals who are already working in health and safety roles and wish to gain formal recognition for their competence in managing workplace safety.
Why these qualifications matter
Workplace health and safety is a critical part of every industry – particularly construction, manufacturing, logistics, and engineering. As regulations continue to tighten and employers place more emphasis on verified competence, gaining a recognised qualification in this field is more important than ever.
The Level 3 NVQ is ideal for supervisors, team leaders, or those starting out in a dedicated health and safety position, while the level 6 NVQ is equivalent to a degree level qualification and suited to experienced professionals in advisory, management, or senior compliance roles.
Both qualifications are based on practical, on the job assessment- meaning there’s no exam. Instead, candidates build a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates their real-world skills, knowledge and decision making in their current role
A key benefit: route to IOSH membership:
One of the major advantages of the level 6 diploma is that it can lead to IOSH Graduate Membership (GradIOSH)- a key step toward becoming a chartered Health and Safety professional (CMIOSH). This makes it a valuable option for those looking to progress in their career and take on more senior roles in the industry.
What this means for our clients:
Our ability to offer these qualifications under the ProQual awarding body allows us to support a broader range of professionals across multiple sectors. Whether you’re an individual looking to formalise your experience or an employer aiming to upskill your workforce, these qualifications provide a flexible and credible route to meet regulatory and organisational needs.
